I am a Master of Education candidate at Queen’s University and a Research Assistant for the Building Parent Engagement in Mathematics project. My role in the project was to create and compile content for reports, and to develop and design resources for weekly communiques and other digital and print materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with schools and to develop a number of new resources that will help families explore mathematics together in fun and engaging ways.
This project allowed us to refine our understandings of how we can best support parent engagement in mathematics—building positive relationships, providing effective and straightforward resources, and maintaining regular communication are all keys to success!
